In modern times, the Syndicate has discarded most of the connections to the Company (though certain shared protocols, technologies, members, and funding sources remain). It now consists of five internal alignments: The anti-corporate Egregorists, the ownership-fanatical Sourcers, the revolutionary blood-capitalists of the Board, the disgraced zealot Bloodletters, and the bio-autonomy extremist Hiveists.

Each of these factions jockey for internal power in an ad-hoc system of isolated operating cells and the questionably-authentic leadership of Syndicate Command. Individual members align with any number of them, though certain factions are allied or opposite certain others.

The leadership structure remains in an eternal transitionary limbo between the Department of Antagonism and an unknown reformed design, making it incredibly dangerous, but prone to deadly inaction.
